In Farm Bureau promotions
they claim it's just another tool.
I say if you believe that
You're certainly a fool.

The IRS just keeps smiling;
they'll figure taxes when the calves are born.
And ranchers meekly sign up
just like sheep getting shorn.

The bankers are happy
their loans are secure,
Cause when you borrow money
they'll get your ID numbers for sure.

Packers are gleeful
with lackeys doing their bidding.
Proprietary information secure, yeah.
Who are they kidding?

They say 48-hour traceback
in case of disease,
Then continue importing contamination
as pretty as you please.

TB from Mexico
and a Canadian BSE cow,
Expect Foot & Mouth germs from South America
just about any time now.

So ID your cattle
and your horses and mules.
Pay Farm Bureau and NCBA
to enforce the government rules.

ID your dogs
and then your cats.
Eventually you'll have to ID
your own precious little brats.

Our 4-H kids all need
an ID tag in their ear.
It's just more government "help," don't you know,
and there's nothing to fear!

The undersecretary told us
Johanns practices that old Golden Rule.
Is that why he delays implementation
of Congress-passed COOL?

Let's double the checkoff;
we need more "Government Speech."
With hands in our pockets
they'll just hang on like a leech.

Bring those Canadian cows down now,
our markets are too high!
We can make a good living eating
Johanns' pie in the sky.

If you don't like my message
just wait until tomorrow.
My President will say "ignore it" and "delete it,"
much to my sorrow.

I agree wholeheartedly that government can't run squat. Where I disagree is in your seeming confusion about the definition of CONSERVATIVE. So what really is the definition?
For six generations my family has identified Conservatives and Republicans as synonymous. Now, six years after putting Conservatives (Republicans) into complete control (President, Senate, House, and 7 of 9 Supremes), where are we? We have seen four raises in the debt ceiling, from $4.5 trillion to $8.7 trillion. We now have a global trade deficit that defies mathematics, common sense, and even liberal comprehension. We have seen an insane push by Bush to expand this deficit to the include the globe. We have heard of plans to merge Mexico, the US, and Canada under the North American Union and build a superhighway for China and Wal-Mart's convenience. We have witnessed a was on terror overseas and a wide-open welcome mat at our borders, both north and south.
Is there anyone in rural America naive enough to believe that "Conservative" political pressure from Bush and company didn't influence our judicial system in Pickett v. IBP and the Checkoff decisions?
Missing $100 bills measured by the ton or by the plane-load and no-bid contracts amounting to nearly $260 billion don't seem "Conservative" to me.
In your Jan. 26 editorial you talked about a doctrine that could possibly shut down - or "muzzle" - "Conservative" talk shows. But I would argue that under Jewish (Abramoff) control, our Senators, life Burns and Brownback, are not muzzled but BOUGHT!

Westerners love to hate environmentalists, yet nothing changed in six long years of "Conservative" control. And do you recall, Pat, where the enviro-wackos got their laws they use to beat us? Yes, my Kansas Senator Bob DOle pushed the Nixon legacy through Senate and Congress: the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, and the EPA.

I've seen the light, and I hope you do too. It's not Democrat either! We should change our political definitions to a simple Honest or Crook with a free pass direct to jail for ANY violation.

Thanks you all your effort to promote honesty, common sense, and our nation.
